1. Ensure SIM card is inserted
2. Connect stick to USB port
• Tip: Nokia logo should face up
3. Windows may start the Setup application automatically
• If not, you must start Setup.exe found from the virtual CD-ROM drive

settings for the cellular network of your service provider (operator)
• The indicator light shows when device is:

• To select the service provider to use, select Operator, the provider, and
OK. If you select Automatic, the Nokia Internet Stick selects the provider
automatically, according to the network parameters and the roaming
agreements between the service providers.

Type of network
• To select which type of network the device uses for connections, select
Type of network and the network type and click OK. If you select
Automatic, the Nokia Internet Stick first tries to use a 3G network, and if
this fails, a GSM network.

• What is the difference between green and blue indicator light?
• Green light indicates that GSM/GPRS network is in use and blue light
indicates that 3G network is in use
• The device feels warm. Is this normal?
• During extended operation, such as a high speed data connection, the device
may feel warm. In most cases this condition is normal. If you suspect the
device is not working properly, take it to the nearest authorized service
facility.
• Is the device compatible with USB 1.1?
• Yes, Nokia CS-17 is compatible with USB 1.1 or higher
• Is my device able to connect internet when I am travelling abroad?
• Yes, but you have to allow the roaming first. To do this open the Nokia
Internet Modem software and in the main view select
> Internet
Connection > Allow connect in roaming.
